Event Overview
The Willow Trail Race offers two distances on the same course: a 10-mile race and a 20-mile race.
Course & Location
The race takes place at Willow River State Park in Hudson, Wisconsin. The course follows a grass and gravel trail through the park. The 20-mile race consists of two loops of the course, while the 10-mile race consists of one loop. An elevation chart and course map are available online.
Race Details
Packet pickup is available on race morning. The 20-mile race starts at 7:00 AM, and the 10-mile race starts at 8:00 AM. A short pre-race briefing is held five minutes before each start. Registration closes ten minutes before the respective start times.
Aid & Facilities
An aid station is located approximately midway through the loop (around 6.75 miles). It provides water, gels, and individually wrapped snacks. Runners in the 20-mile race have access to an aid station near the finish of the first loop. This is a cupless event, so runners are asked to bring their own water bottles. Portable toilets are available at the aid station and start/finish area. Runners in the 20-mile race can use a drop bag near the beginning of their second loop.
Logistics
Parking is available in the nature center/start area parking lot in the southern part of the park. A parking admission fee is required, with details available on the state park website. Runners are advised to arrive early to pay for parking and find a spot. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
