The Willow 10 & 20 Miler

The Willow Trail Race is held at Willow River State Park in Hudson, WI, and uses a single marked loop on grass and gravel single-track. Runners can choose between the following distances:

  • 20 miles - two loops of the course
  • 10 miles - one loop of the course

The course features rolling terrain with roots, ridgelines, open meadows, and measurable elevation changes. A course map with the start, finish, aid station, and an elevation chart is available for participants.

An aid station is located about 6.75 miles into the loop and provides water, gels, and individually wrapped snacks. The event is cupless; participants are asked to bring their own water bottles for refilling at aid stations. Twenty-mile runners may use drop bags that are collected at the start and returned near the beginning of the second loop. Portable toilets will be available at the aid station and the start/finish area.

Packet pick-up is offered on race morning for both distances; registration closes shortly before each race. There will be a short pre-race briefing five minutes before each start. Parking is recommended in the nature center/start area; park admission fees apply. If a runner withdraws, they must return their bib to race staff or an aid station captain. The race director may delay, suspend, or cancel the event for safety reasons; no refunds or transfers are allowed if the event is canceled.
