Course and Event

The CityTrail Loppet is an urban trail run. The route is a point-to-point course starting at Theodore Wirth Park and finishing at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Participants run on a mix of ski trail, singletrack, and asphalt.

The 5 km start is at the corner of Theo Wirth Parkway and Hwy 55, a half-mile walk/jog from the main packet pickup location. The 10 km and 10 mile races start at the Trailhead facility in Wirth Park's Lower Stadium.

All three races finish together at the Sculpture Garden.

Services and Features

A shuttle bus service runs from the finish area (Parade Stadium) to the start line before the races. A bag drop service is available for all distances. Aid stations on the course provide water, Gatorade, and Gu gels. Live athlete tracking and results are provided via the Mtec Results app.

At the finish, there is an after-party at the Sculpture Garden. Participants aged 21 and over receive a free beer from Pryes Brewing, with non-alcoholic options also available. Finish line food and music are provided.

Participants who register by May 1 receive an event t-shirt. Awards are given to the top three overall finishers in male, female, and non-binary categories for each distance. The event is Trail Sisters approved.

Logistics

The event supports alternative transportation, with bike racks available at the finish. Paid parking is available at Parade Stadium, with free parking across the street at Dunwoody. The event proceeds benefit the Loppet Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
