CityTrail Loppet

CityTrail Loppet is an annual urban trail run that starts near the Trailhead in Theodore Wirth Park and finishes at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. The course mixes single track, double track, and asphalt trails and is organized as point to point with a common finish area at the Sculpture Garden.

Distances offered:

  • 5K, fairly flat and starts at the corner of Theo Wirth Pkwy and Hwy 55
  • 10K, includes multiple trail sections and some tougher terrain
  • 10 Mile, longer route, noted as not as hilly as Trail Loppet

On-course support includes fluid stations supplying water and Tailwind energy drink; Gu gels are provided at the third and fourth fluid stations for the 10 Mile. All races have bag drop service and packet pickup at the Trailhead; the 5K bag drop is at its start. Athlete tracking and results are available through the Mtec Results app.

Logistics include shuttle buses from the Parade Stadium parking lot to the Trailhead (no post-race shuttles), paid parking at Parade Stadium with free parking at Dunwoody across the street, and bike racks near the finish. The Sculpture Garden finish area hosts a post-race party with music, food trucks, family activities, and a complimentary Pryes Brewing beer for participants 21 plus. Awards are given to the top three overall in male, female, and non-binary categories for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
