Event overview
CityTrail Loppet is an annual urban trail run organized by the Loppet Foundation that finishes at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. The event offers three distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 10 Mile
The course is point-to-point and uses a mix of ski trail, singletrack, and asphalt. Most races start at the community-hub Trailhead in Theodore Wirth Park; the 5K start is at the corner of Theo Wirth Parkway and Hwy 55. All races finish together at the Sculpture Garden near the Cherry and Spoon sculpture.
Logistics and race features
Packet pickup is available the day before and on race day at the Trailhead. Shuttle buses run from the Parade Stadium parking area to the Trailhead for start-line access; there are no post-race shuttles back to the Trailhead. Parade Stadium parking is paid; free parking is noted at Dunwoody across the street. Bike racks will be available near the finish.
Aid stations will provide water, Gatorade, and Gu gels at announced locations. Race services include bag drop at start locations and bag claim at the Sculpture Garden finish, live athlete tracking and results via the Mtec Results app, finish-line food and music, and a complimentary beer from Utepils Brewing for participants 21+ at the finish. Awards are given to the top three overall in male, female, and non-binary categories for each distance; age-group results are posted online.
