CityTrail Loppet
The CityTrail Loppet is an annual urban trail adventure that takes participants through a variety of terrains in Minneapolis. The event features point-to-point courses that transition from natural landscapes to urban landmarks, beginning at Theodore Wirth Park and concluding at the Sculpture Garden.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 10 Mile: A long-distance urban trail run utilizing ski trails, singletrack, and asphalt.
- 10K: A trail-focused course designed to provide a mid-distance challenge.
- 5K: A flatter, adventurous route suitable for both runners and walkers.
The 10 Mile and 10K events start at the Trailhead in Theodore Wirth Park. The 5K begins a short distance away at the corner of Highway 55 and Theodore Wirth Parkway. All three races share a common finish line at the Sculpture Garden, near the "Spoonbridge and Cherry" installation.
A bag drop service is available at the start lines for all participants, with bags transported to the finish area. The event provides aid stations stocked with water, electrolyte drinks, and energy gels. At the finish line, participants can access a post-race celebration featuring music, food, and beverages. Results are provided via live athlete tracking. Free shuttle buses are available before the races to transport participants from the Parade Stadium parking lot to the starting areas.
