CityTrail Loppet : event details
The CityTrail Loppet is an annual point-to-point urban trail run in Theodore Wirth Park that finishes at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. The course uses a mix of ski trail, singletrack, and asphalt. The event offers three distances that all finish together at the Sculpture Garden.
- 5K : a fairly flat but adventurous route
- 10K : includes multiple trails and some tougher sections
- 10 Mile : the longest option, less hilly than some other Loppet races
Logistics and services
Start locations: the 10K and 10 Mile start at the Trailhead (Lower Stadium-Trailhead); the 5K starts at the corner of Theo Wirth Parkway and Hwy 55. Packet pickup is available the day before at a TBD location and at the Trailhead on race day. Shuttle buses run from the Parade Stadium parking area to the Trailhead before the race; there are no post-race shuttles. Parade Stadium is paid parking; free parking is available at Dunwoody across the street. Bike racks will be available near the finish.
On-course aid stations will offer water, Gatorade, and Gu gels. All races provide a start-line bag drop and bag claim at the Sculpture Garden finish. Live tracking and results are available through the Mtec Results app. Awards go to the top three overall finishers in male, female, and non-binary categories for each distance; age group results are posted online in five-year groups. Participants who register early receive a CityTrail t-shirt. The finish area includes a Sculpture Garden party with music, food, and a complimentary Utepils Brewing beer for participants 21+ (N/A options available).
