The Wauhatchie Trail Race

The Wauhatchie Trail Race is scheduled for February 6, 2027, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is organized by the Chattanooga Track Club. This is the 41st running of the event and it is held at Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center, located at 400 Garden Rd.

The course covers 6.7 miles on the lower slopes of Lookout Mountain. Runners encounter hilly gravel and dirt roads and rough double track trails. The route includes steep ascents and descents and trail surfaces that may be covered with leaves, rocks, and fallen tree limbs. The elevation change from the start/finish to the highest point on the course is 410 feet.

The event uses an age and sex handicap format. Males in the 20-24 and 25-29 age groups are treated as the fastest group and start from the baseline; other age and sex groups receive staggered head starts based on the handicap system.

Awards are listed for the top three male and female finishers and for top masters in each gender. Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center is described as a nearby outdoor venue with about 317 acres and approximately 15 miles of dog friendly hiking and running trails.
