The Wauhatchie Trail Race

The Wauhatchie Trail Race is the 41st running of a trail event held on Saturday, February 6, 2027. The course covers 6.7 miles across hilly gravel and dirt roads and rough double-track trails on the lower slopes of Lookout Mountain. The elevation change from the starting and finishing area to the highest point on the course is 410 feet.

Runners will encounter steep ascents and descents on trails that are commonly covered with leaves, rocks, and fallen tree limbs. The event is chip timed and organized as an age and sex handicapped race. Males aged 20 to 24 and 25 to 29 are designated the fastest group and start at time zero; other age and sex groups receive staggered head starts under the handicap format.
