Route, support and logistics

The course follows the Vale Coast Path through the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and passes golden beaches, cliffs, Ogmore Castle and a set of stepping stones. There are four manned checkpoints along the route stocked with snacks, fresh fruit, hot and cold drinks, seating, power banks and music. The event lists a set of compulsory kit items: appropriate footwear, a 1-litre water carrier, mobile phone, compass (phone version allowed), a headlamp or other light for tunnels or night, a foil blanket, waterproof jacket and a rucksack. Organisers offer an optional coach transfer from the finish in Penarth to the start in Porthcawl; riders must reserve a place in advance.
