Pegasus – The VOGUM 2026

The VOGUM (Vale of Glamorgan Ultra Marathon) is a 40-mile running event on June 6th, 2026. The point-to-point route follows the Wales Coast Path from Porthcawl in the west to Penarth in the east. The terrain is described as 85% trail and 15% road.

The route takes in the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, featuring coastal views, golden beaches, and dramatic cliffs. Points of interest include Ogmore Castle and the infamous stepping stones. The total elevation gain for the route is 3,054 feet.

The event includes transport logistics. A coach departs from the finish in Penarth to transport participants to the start in Porthcawl before the race.

Three fully stocked aid stations are positioned along the course. They are manned and provide snacks, fresh fruit, hot and cold drinks, seats, power banks, and music. Dietary requirements are accommodated if specified during registration.

There is no official time limit for the event. Mandatory kit includes appropriate footwear, a water carrier (1 litre), a mobile phone, a headlamp or light source, a foil blanket, a waterproof jacket, a rucksack, and a "sense of adventure."

Entry includes a finisher's medal, post-race care, support at the checkpoints, and event organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
