The VOGUM 2026 : Vale of Glamorgan Ultra Marathon

The VOGUM is a coastal ultra marathon held on 6 June 2026 along the Wales Coast Path in the Vale of Glamorgan. The route runs east from Porthcawl through the Glamorgan Heritage Coast to Lavernock Point and covers 40 miles of coastline.

Participants follow a route that includes golden beaches, dramatic cliffs, Ogmore Castle and the local stepping stones. The course surface is primarily trail with some road sections, described as roughly 85% trail and 15% road, and the organiser notes coastal views throughout. The total elevation for the route is 3,054 ft.

There are three fully stocked checkpoints along the route. Checkpoints are described as manned and offering snacks, fresh fruit, hot and cold drinks, seating, power banks and music. Organisers say dietary requirements can be accommodated at the checkpoints.

There are no formal time limits for completion. Mandatory kit listed by the organiser includes appropriate footwear, a 1 litre water carrier, a mobile phone, a headlamp or other light source, a foil blanket, a waterproof jacket and a rucksack. Entry benefits noted by the organiser include a Pegasus medal, post race care, staffed checkpoints and event crew support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
