Event overview

The Stonehenge Stomp takes place on Sunday 25 January 2026 and is organised by the City of Salisbury Athletics & Running Club. The event brings walkers and runners together on fully marked trails around the Stonehenge landscape. It is not a race and the event is not timed. The organiser states that 50% of event proceeds will be donated to Salisbury Hospice Charity and the remainder will be invested in grass routes athletics at the club. The event is cupless - participants should bring their own cup or may order a collapsible cup during entry.

Routes include marshalled checkpoints with water, squash and biscuits. Checkpoint cards are available and are stamped along the route. Participants receive a coloured band for their chosen distance and a sew-on Stonehenge Stomp badge is included with entry. Personalised certificates are available for a donation.

Entry, kit and other rules

Entry is online only and places are limited (maximum 1,000 entrants). Entries close 18 January 2026; transfers are permitted up to that date. Entries are non-refundable; refunds and deferrals are not offered. The organiser specifies a minimum age of 18 years. Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead at all times. New mandatory kit requires all participants to carry a foil blanket (available to purchase at HQ). Hot food, showers and a changing area are available at HQ; bags are unmanned and left at the owner’s risk. Volunteers support event delivery. Enjoy a scenic winter countryside run of about 12.5 miles around Warminster while supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Expect competitive prizes, event merchandise and winter conditions so book ahead to secure your place.

Choose 12.1 km or 21.4 km and tackle scenic rolling trails around Farley Mount, starting from Sparsholt College near Winchester. Enjoy chip timing, a finisher medal and on site support for a friendly countryside race.

Kings Garn Gutter orienteering in the New Forest on Sunday 11 January offers runnable forest, streams and updated 1:10,000 maps. Courses range from short novice path events to long technical routes so all abilities can join.

Take part in a regional ranking orienteering at West Woods near Marlborough with courses for beginners to experienced navigators through mature woodland. Entry is online only and full leg cover and a whistle are compulsory.
