The Sesquilizer - Columbia, SC

The Sesquilizer is an 8.67 mile event held in Columbia, South Carolina. The course described by the organizer includes about 700 feet of elevation gain. Course files are provided for Strava and Garmin.

The race uses a staggered-start equalization format with 22 start groups that begin at one-minute intervals so age and gender groups have adjusted starting positions. The fastest younger men start last relative to the race clock. Start group numbers will be printed on each bib. Runners who wish to run together must use the later of the relevant start slots.

Awards are expected to be given to the top eight overall finishers; because of the equalized starts there are no separate age-group categories. Organizers plan a raffle, and each starter receives a unisex t-shirt available in sizes XS to XL, with no logos on the back.

Organizers will review results after each running of the event and may adjust the timed starts over time to better align expected and actual finishes; changes will not be made based on single outliers.

The event location is listed as 9564 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC. Additional event details and course files are referenced by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
