Plough and Harroween trail run

Plough and Harroween 5 mile night trail run : 30 October 2026

This event is a 5 mile night trail run based at The Plough & Harrow, The Street, Litlington, East Sussex BN26 5RE. The route is self navigated using GPX files provided for devices and follows the reverse direction of the Friston Forest 5 route. The course is mostly countryside with forest, farm tracks and downlands and will be swept by a tail runner.

Participants must be 18 years or older because a licensed premises is used as the start and finish venue. Runners should carry a head torch, a mobile phone with ICE details and wear trail running shoes under any Halloween themed fancy dress. The event is timed but described as more of a fun adventure in the dark than a competition.

Fancy dress is part of the event. A panel of judges will choose the best dressed runners; trophies will be awarded to the top three and the winner receives a post run dessert. Runners who do not wear any Halloween fancy dress will incur a five minute time penalty. Non affiliated England Athletics or Trail Runners Association members pay an additional two pound levy.

Entry pricing varies by date with early and later rates listed by the organiser. Total places are limited to 40. Parking is limited and the event may be postponed by a year in the unlikely event of snow or ice. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
