Plough and Harroween trail run

Litlington, United Kingdom • 31 Oct 2025

Event overview

The Plough and Harroween is a night trail run of 5 mile taking place on 31 October 2025. The start and finish are at the Plough & Harrow in Litlington, East Sussex, with the route running through Friston Forest and surrounding countryside. The event has a limit of 40 places and is currently on a waiting list. Entry prices are listed as £15, £16, and £17 at different booking periods.

Format and requirements

The route is self-navigated using a GPX course (Strava/Garmin) run in the reverse direction of the Friston Forest 5 route. Organisers provide a written narrative to help with downloading the file and a tail runner to sweep the course. Much of the route is countryside including forest, farm tracks and downlands, and it includes many hills.

Runners receive a race number, timing, and a themed finishers medal. On return of the race number at the bar each runner is offered a drink. The event is Halloween themed: participants are expected to wear fancy dress, a best-dressed prize includes a post-run meal at the pub, and runners who do not wear any fancy dress incur a 5 minute time penalty. Required equipment includes a head torch, a mobile phone with ICE details, and suitable trail running shoes. The event is for participants aged 18 and over.
