The Plough and Harroween 5 mile night trail run
This event is a 5 mile night trail run on 31 October 2027 at The Plough & Harrow in Litlington, East Sussex. The route is mostly countryside and includes forest, farm tracks and downlands.
The course is self navigated using a Strava GPX file on a phone or watch and runs in the reverse direction of the Friston Forest 5 route. Organisers provide a written narrative to help with downloading the GPX and a tail runner who will sweep the course.
Participants should carry a head torch, a mobile phone with ICE details and wear trail running shoes under Halloween themed fancy dress. The route includes many hills and participants are advised to bring warm layers and other provisions as the event is self sufficient. The event is for those aged 18 and older because the start and finish use a licensed premises.
Runners receive a race number and a timed result, a tail runner for safety and an event Halloween themed finisher medal. Post run, handing in the race number behind the bar allows a drink to be claimed. The best fancy dressed runner chosen by the event panel wins a post run dessert. Non affiliated England Athletics or Trail Runners Association runners pay an additional £2 levy. Parking is limited so car sharing is recommended. Total places for the event are 40.
