Plough and Harroween trail run

Litlington, United Kingdom • 30 Oct 2026

Friday Fright-Night - The Plough and Harroween 5 mile night trail run

Date: 30 October 2026.

This is the third running of a seasonal night trail event. The course is a self-navigated, timed 5 mile route run in the reverse direction of the Friston Forest 5 route. Runners follow a Strava GPX on phone or watch; a written narrative will be available to assist with downloading the route. A tail runner will sweep the course.

The majority of the route is in the countryside and includes forest, farm tracks and downlands. There are many hills. Participants are advised to carry a head torch, a mobile phone with ICE details, and to wear trail running shoes under their Halloween themed fancy dress if possible.

Fancy dress is part of the event. Trophies will be awarded to the top three best dressed, with the winner receiving a post-run dessert. Runners who submit their race number after the run at the bar may claim a drink (beer, wine, cola or coffee). Entrants who do not take part in Halloween fancy dress incur a five minute time penalty (one minute per mile). Non-affiliated England Athletics or Trail Runners Association runners pay an additional £2 levy.

The venue is The Plough & Harrow, The Street, Litlington, East Sussex BN26 5RE. The event is for adults aged 18 and over. Parking spaces are limited. In the unlikely event of snow or ice the event may be postponed by a year.

Prices: £16.50 until 31 Jan 2026; £17.00 until 31 May 2026; £17.50 until 24 Oct 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
