The Pena Passage
The Pena Passage is a trail running event held at Lagoon Valley Park in Vacaville. The course features a variety of terrain including rolling hills, single-track trails, and fire roads. Participants pass through diverse landscapes such as open grasslands and shaded oak groves.
The event offers several distances and categories:
- 30K: A course with approximately 4,600 feet of elevation gain featuring technical trails, climbs, and descents.
- 10K: A route with roughly 1,690 feet of elevation gain and rugged sections.
- 5K: A course on gentler terrain with an estimated 890 feet of elevation gain.
- Kids 1K: An untimed run for children aged 5 to 17 years old.
The courses are marked and include aid stations. These stations provide various refreshments which may include water, electrolyte drinks, energy gels, chews, pretzels, cookies, bananas, and watermelon.
