The Oregon Trail Team Run takes place at Sycamore Creek Ranch in Branson, Missouri. This event is held on a 272-acre property and features a course consisting entirely of trails with no paved sections. Participants navigate rugged terrain, rocky areas, and open meadows while facing elevation changes.

The race is a team-based event for groups of 4-6 runners. Teams start in a staggered format and are required to complete all challenges and cross the finish line together. The course is inspired by historical westward travel and includes several themed physical and skill-based tasks.

The route includes a section known as The Plains, which transitions from ranch views into a meadow. During the run, teams encounter specific obstacles, such as an "Illness Strikes" challenge where one teammate must be carried for 50 yards. Other activities include a thematic river crossing obstacle and "The Hunt," where participants use soft-tipped arrows to shoot at targets for time bonuses.

The final segment of the run involves a steep climb up a manicured hill to reach a circle of Conestoga wagons at the summit. Following the event, participants can take a hayride to a post-race gathering area for refreshments and games.
