The Maverick Suffolk Gravel 2026
The Maverick Suffolk Gravel run takes place at Wantisden Hall in the Suffolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Routes run through largely unspoilt woodland and gravel trails across an area that includes several nature reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest. The course is described as very flat with some sandy sections and tranquil forest trails.
There are three marked and timed route options:
- 23 km half marathon, elevation gain +118 m
- 16 km middle route, elevation gain +69 m
- 9 km short route, elevation gain +58 m
Outpost provision varies by route. The short route has no outpost. The middle route has two outposts at about 6 km and 11 km. The half marathon has two outposts at about 6 km and 18 km. Outposts offer a range of sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte as a top up. Toilets are available at the start and finish location only.
Practical details include free parking at the venue and an event village at Wantisden Hall. The venue is roughly two hours from central London by car and about a 14 minute drive from Melton train station. Entries may include dogs in limited numbers and participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Runners are asked to bring a reusable cup for outposts.
