The Maverick Suffolk Gravel 2026
The Maverick Suffolk Gravel run takes place on Saturday 28 November 2026 at Wantisden Hall, Wantisden Park, Fenn Row, Wantisden, Woodbridge in the Suffolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Routes run through woodland and wildlife areas that include national nature reserves and sites of special scientific interest.
- 23 km Half Marathon (elevation +118 m)
- 16 km Middle (elevation +69 m)
- 9 km Short (elevation +58 m)
The course is described as super flat with easy trails and some sandy sections. Outposts are provided as top-ups, with two on the Middle route (around 6 km and 11 km) and two on the Half Marathon (around 6 km and 18 km). There is no outpost on the Short route. Outposts offer fruit, cake, crisps, gels and electrolyte. There will not be pre-filled cups; runners are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle and may make use of self-serve water barrels.
On-site facilities include free parking, a fully marked and fully timed course, online results, event photography, food and drink availability, a bag drop area and a finishers medal. Toilets are available at the start and finish only. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. The event is dog friendly; a dog must be added to an entry to take part with a dog.
Organisers strongly recommend not wearing headphones and request that runners complete the course within four hours to reduce pressure on marshals. The event village and start are about a two hour drive from central London. The nearest station is Melton, about a 14 minute drive from the venue; rail services run from London Liverpool Street to Melton with an approximate journey time of 1 hour 40 minutes.
