The Maverick Suffolk Gravel 2026
The Maverick Suffolk Gravel run takes participants through the Suffolk Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty around Wantisden Hall near Woodbridge. Routes follow largely unspoilt forest and gravel trails that are described as flat and fast, with some sandy sections.
Three route options are available:
- 23 km Half Marathon, elevation gain +118 m
- 16 km Middle route, elevation gain +69 m
- 9 km Short route, elevation gain +58 m
The event base is at Wantisden Hall with an event village and free parking. Nearest rail access is Melton station, about a 14 minute drive from the venue; a typical rail journey from London Liverpool Street is listed as about 1 hour 40 minutes. The course is fully marked and fully timed, with online results and event photography provided. Facilities at the start and finish include toilets, a bag drop area, food and drink and a finishers medal.
Outpost provision varies by distance. The Short route has no outpost. The Middle route has two outposts at roughly 6 km and 11 km. The Half Marathon has two outposts at roughly 6 km and 18 km. Outposts offer snacks, gels and electrolyte but do not have toilets. The organiser aims to keep outposts cup free so participants are asked to bring a cup or bottle. The event is dog friendly provided a dog is added to the entry. Organisers ask that runners finish within four hours to limit marshals time on course. Guidance is given on common trail safety and etiquette. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
