The Maverick Jurassic Coast X-Trail 2026
The Maverick Jurassic Coast X-Trail is a trail running event on 17 October 2026 centred at Burnbake Forest Lodges and Campsite near Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset. Routes run around the Isle of Purbeck and along part of the Jurassic Coast, using sections of the South Dorset Ridgeway and the South West Coast Path.
Routes and elevation:
- 102 km Ultra: 102 km, +2547 m elevation
- 54 km Ultra: 54 km, +1204 m elevation
The 102 km route starts at Hardy Monument and passes Osmington, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Studland before returning to Burnbake. The 54 km route passes Old Harry's Rocks, runs along the Purbeck Way and descends past Corfe Castle. The 102 km route includes a drop bag service delivered to an outpost roughly 54 km into the course.
Both ultra routes are fully marked and include outposts with snacks, gels and electrolyte drink. Outposts operate as self-serve water stations so participants should carry a reusable cup or bottle. The event aims to be plastic free and requests reusable cups.
Mandatory kit lists differ by distance; both routes require a minimum of water, calorie provision and emergency items, with additional items mandatory for the 102 km.
