The Maverick Jurassic Coast Trail 2026 takes place on 17 October 2026 at Burnbake Forest Lodges and Campsite, Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset. The routes run around the Isle of Purbeck and along part of the 95-mile Jurassic Coast. The course includes technical terrain with long steep climbs and descents and sections that traverse coastal ridge-lines via the Purbeck Way. The Half Marathon route passes Old Harry's Rocks.

  • Middle: 12 km (elevation +105 m)
  • Short: 6 km (elevation +35 m)

Facilities and rules

There is one outpost on the Half Marathon route (approx 9 km). There are no outposts on the Short or Middle routes. Outpost provisions include fruit, cake, crisps, gels and electrolyte drink; water is served from self-serve barrels and no pre-filled cups are provided. Participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle. The event offers free parking, a fully marked course, timing and online results, event photography, food and drink, and a metal finishers medal. Dogs are allowed if added to the entry. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Organisers strongly recommend carrying at least 1 litre of water and a mobile phone and advise against wearing headphones. Kings Garn Gutter orienteering in the New Forest on Sunday 11 January offers runnable forest, streams and updated 1:10,000 maps. Courses range from short novice path events to long technical routes so all abilities can join.
