The Maverick Jurassic Coast Trail 2026
The event takes place around the Isle of Purbeck and along part of the Jurassic Coast, based at Burnbake Forest Lodges and Campsite near Corfe Castle in Wareham, Dorset (BH20 5JH). Three on-day routes start just outside the village of Corfe Castle and lead across marshland toward the coast. Longer ultra distances are referenced separately under the Maverick Jurassic Coast X-Trail.
Route highlights include coastal ridge running via the Purbeck Way and views of Old Harry's Rocks on the Half Marathon and Ultra routes. The Ultra route continues past Winspit Quarry and St. Aldhelm's Head, then follows sections of the Hardy Way and descends across Knowle Hill toward the finish area.
Routes and measured details
- Half Marathon: 24 km, +395 m
- Middle: 12 km, +105 m

The terrain includes technical sections with long, steep climbs and descents. Outpost provision is limited: there is one outpost on the Half Marathon at about 9 km offering snacks, gels and electrolyte drink; there are no outposts on the Short or Middle routes. Outposts aim to be cup free so runners should bring a cup or bottle to refill.

Online entry closes a few days before the event and on the day entries are subject to availability. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
