The Maverick Jurassic Coast Trail 2026

The event takes place on Saturday 17 October 2026 at Burnbake Forest Lodges and Campsite, Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset. Routes use trails around the Isle of Purbeck and sections of the Jurassic Coast, including coastal ridge lines and marshland.

Three main distances are provided:

  • Half Marathon: 24 km, +395 m
  • Middle: 12 km, +105 m
  • Short: 6 km, +35 m

The Half Marathon and longer routes pass notable coastal features such as Old Harry's Rocks and traverse the Purbeck Way. Route descriptions mention Winspit Quarry, the steps at St. Aldhelm's Head, the Hardy Way and descents across Knowle Hill, with parts of the course offering views toward Corfe Castle. The Short and Middle routes do not include an outpost. The Half Marathon has one outpost at about 9 km providing snacks, gels and electrolyte drink; outposts are intended as a top up to what participants carry.

Free parking and a fully marked, timed course are provided. The event is dog friendly when a dog is added to the entry. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Organisers recommend carrying at least 1 litre of water, a raincoat, a foil blanket and a mobile phone, using trail shoes, and loading the GPX route onto a watch or phone.
