The Maverick Jurassic Coast Trail 2026

The Maverick Jurassic Coast Trail takes place on the Isle of Purbeck and along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. The event starts and finishes at the Burnbake Forest Lodges and Campsite near the village of Corfe Castle. The course terrain includes marshes, coastal ridge-lines, and technical sections with steep climbs and descents.

Participants can choose from three different distances:

  • 24 km (Half Marathon) with +395 m elevation gain
  • 12 km (Middle) with +105 m elevation gain
  • 6 km (Short) with +35 m elevation gain

The 24 km route follows the Purbeck Way, passing landmarks such as Old Harry's Rocks, Winspit Quarry, and St. Aldhelm's Head, before returning via the Hardy Way and Knowle Hill. One hydration and nutrition outpost is located at approximately the 9 km mark for this distance. There are no outposts on the 12 km or 6 km routes.

This is a plastic-free event, meaning no disposable cups are provided at outposts; runners must carry their own reusable bottles or cups. The event is dog-friendly, provided the animal is registered with the entry. Facilities at the venue include free parking, and the nearest train station is Wareham, located approximately five minutes away by vehicle.
