About the race
The Doomsday Run is a trail race through roughly 600 acres of ancient woodland at Charborough Estate, Bere Wood, Dorset on 29 November 2026. The event uses a forest loop that includes coarse underfoot surfaces, roots, ruts, seasonal mud and low light under the canopy. GPX files are issued to participants prior to the event.
Distances offered:
- 10K single loop
- Half marathon (21K) double loop
- Half marathon relay two people, one loop each
The course runs on woodland tracks with uneven and rooted sections, steep climbs and technical terrain. The route is described as requiring constant focus; trail shoes are strongly recommended. The half marathon passes back through Race HQ on the second loop where aid is available. Race HQ provides covered space, toilets, drinks, first aid, chip timing and marshals. All finishers are offered refreshments and a medal.
Mandatory kit includes a mobile phone and a reusable cup. Recommended items include water, a foil blanket, an extra layer, snacks, gloves and a hat. Entries are non-refundable and minimum age is 18. Pacers and dogs are not allowed. Full pre-race information is issued to participants ahead of the event and a draft route map is available before the final route is confirmed.
