The Mangy Coyote Backyard Ultra
The Mangy Coyote Backyard Ultra : Trenton Park, Nova Scotia
The Mangy Coyote is a backyard ultra held at Trenton Park and organized as a fundraiser for the Pictou County United Way. The event follows a simple backyard format: participants run a loop repeatedly for a total duration of 13 hours, continuing until the time ends or they stop.
The loop distance is to be confirmed; organizers estimate 4–6 km per loop with 40–60 m of elevation change. The course combines groomed double-wide gravel trails and technical singletrack. An aid station will provide hydration and light snacks. A crew area with tent space is available near the start/finish for gear, food, and support.
Awards include Most Loops Completed (men/women) with a trophy and prize package, and a Spirit of the Pack award for the runner who embodies grit and community. The event notes that no refunds will be issued.
Registration is listed at CA$85 plus tax and processing fees. Registration benefits include a finisher sticker and access to the aid station described. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
