The Loop Race
Philadelphia, United States • 7 Dec 2025
The Loop Race, Philadelphia’s oldest running event, unfolds on an 8.4-mile loop around the Schuylkill River, starting and finishing near Boathouse Row in Philadelphia, PA 19130. Since 1971, it has become a local favorite with a flat course run largely on the sidewalk, free of traffic, passing historic sites such as the Rocky Statue, the Art Museum, East Falls Bridge, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Strawberry Mansion Bridge, and Boat House Row. In 2025, the race features RaceJoy tracking with chip-timed splits at miles 3 and 6; a virtual Loop Race is available. Finisher medals have a new design year. Proceeds support Belmont Plateau Cross Country courses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
