The Last Cowboy Backyard

The Last Cowboy Backyard is Nebraska’s first Backyard Ultra event, held in O’Neill, NE, starting at the community center. The race features a 4.17-mile out-and-back course along the flat, non-technical Cowboy Trail, ideal for achieving high mileage and personal records. Participants run one lap every hour on the hour until only one runner remains, with laps starting simultaneously and a gong signaling each start.

The event supports up to 150 runners and offers indoor and outdoor crew areas. Awards include custom wooden plaques with mileage, acrylic awards for last male and female, and a unique belt buckle for the last person standing.
