Jed Smith Ultra Classic : February 6, 2027
The Jed Smith Ultra Classic is scheduled for February 6, 2027 and features multiple looped USATF certified courses along the American River Parkway. The course is a nearly identical layout to the record-setting route used for the 2011 World Masters Championship Marathon. Runners cross the Guy West Bridge near the Sacramento State campus and the Watt Bridge at the other end of the 4.85 mile loop. The route follows a paved bike path and some wide dirt trails.

The race is capped at 250 entrants. All participants receive a long sleeved shirt in men’s or women’s sizing and a pair of Balega socks provided by Sacramento Running Company. Packet pick-up and race day registration occur in the start/finish area and include T shirt and bib numbers. The event is held rain or shine and refunds are not offered.
There are two aid stations: a main station at the start/finish area and a second station near the Howe Avenue Bridge about three miles away. Aid stations will offer soda, water, GU sports drink, single serve candy, gels, salty snacks and other ultra foods. Limited cups will be available so runners are encouraged to bring their own. The loop layout allows personal mini aid stations in the Watt Avenue parking area.
Local parkway rules require runners and pedestrians to use the left shoulder and bicycles to use the right lane. Course marshals will be posted at key turns. Several USA and Canadian age group records have been set on this course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
