All entrants receive a long-sleeve technical shirt in men's and women's sizing. All finishers receive a hand-crafted wooden medal. The marathon has a 9.5 hour time limit and the course is open all day.

Course and support

The event uses USATF-certified courses and a 4.85 mile loop that is nearly identical to the course used for the 2011 World Masters Championship Marathon. The route crosses the Guy West Bridge and the Watt Bridge and follows a paved bike path and some wide dirt trails along the American River Parkway. Parkway rules require runners and pedestrians to use the left side and bicycles to use the right side; single file is recommended. Course marshals will be placed at key turns. Two aid stations are provided: the main station at the start/finish area and a second station about 3 miles away by the Howe Avenue Bridge. Aid includes water, soda, GU sports drink, single-serve candy, gel, and salty snacks. Limited cups are available and personal mini aid stations are permitted off to the side in the Watt Avenue parking area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
