Haunted Sacramento 5K and 10K

Haunted Sacramento is a map adventure event in East Sacramento that offers two course lengths: 5 km and 10 km. Participants navigate neighborhood checkpoints shown as circles on a map, find the house at the center of each circle, and answer a simple multiple choice question at each stop. The 5 km course includes about 20 checkpoints and the 10 km course includes about 36 checkpoints.

Teams may range from one to five people. The event includes gender divisions for Women, Men, and Mixed, and age divisions for Junior, Open, Masters (average age 40 plus), and Family. After returning to the finish, participants can enjoy snacks, drinks, and socializing.

Location information is provided for the East Portal Clubhouse at East Portal Park in Sacramento, California. The event runs rain or shine; closed toed shoes are recommended. Registration is available online and day of registration is also offered. Course maps are supplied at check in and the route passes through decorated neighborhood displays, where observers and displays form part of the checkpoint experience.
