The Harvathon - Hitchin, UK

The Harvathon returns as a lapped trail event organised by Run Strong in memory of Ian Harvey. It takes place at Kings Walden Rd, Hitchin SG5 3DX, UK, and donates part of its proceeds to charity. The event is offered in multiple formats to suit different preferences.

The core route follows a 5K off-road loop through countryside, with a mix of trail, grass, woodland and some road sections. The loop includes mostly flat or downhill sections and one notably steep section often referred to as Cardiac Hill. Participants may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within the event format.

Available distances and formats:

  • The Harvathon - 7-hour lapped event
  • Virtual Harvathon - virtual option, same 7-hour format
  • Mini Mile - 1 mile for children

On-site facilities and services include an event village, aid station for the main event, food and coffee van, clubhouse bar, toilets, finishers' medals and goodie bags. The event also offers post-event stretch sessions, massage, taster core sessions, a bouncy castle and treats for Mini Mile participants. Parking is available on site with overflow parking at Offley Hoo Farm.

Participant reviews mention clear signage, friendly and supportive marshals, varied countryside views and a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere suitable for runners and walkers of different paces. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
