Broken Arrow Skyrace - June 18 to 21, 2026

The Broken Arrow Skyrace is a multi-day, multi-distance mountain running event at Palisades Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, California. The event follows a skyrunning model with extensive vertical gain and loss, technical off-trail scrambling, exposed ridge sections, ladders, hand lines, scree and potential snow slopes. Much of the terrain is above the tree line and offers high alpine views of Lake Tahoe.

Distances and special formats include:

  • 46K : signature distance; limited to 800 runners
  • 23K : World Mountain Running Association World Cup course
  • 18K : course including Red Dog Ridge and Stairway to Heaven ladder
  • 11K : 11 km with ~569 m vertical; limited to 600 runners
  • Ascent : short, steep vertical race; limited to 600 runners
  • Iron Face Challenge : 5.75 miles with a Via Ferrata section; limited to 100
  • Triple Crown : Ascent plus 46K plus 23K; limited to 200
  • Iron Crown : Iron Face plus 23K plus 46K; limited to 25
  • Trail Futures NTN : youth competition for ages 10 to 18
  • Kid's Race : for ages 10 and under; roughly 1 km course

Participants receive race apparel, finisher items and sponsor samples; specific swag and itemized packages vary by distance. The event includes age and weight requirements for selected distances and may impose mandatory gear for adverse weather. A dog friendly 5K and 1 mile event at North Tahoe Regional Park with an expo, non competitive activities, and a fundraiser supporting local animal rescue and veterinary care.

A 200.2 mile ultramarathon around Lake Tahoe using the Tahoe Rim Trail and National Forest lands, featuring many single-track sections, multiple aid and sleep stations, and a 105 hour cutoff. The course is currently an out and back route.

Three distances start and finish at the Village at Palisades Tahoe with scenic out and back courses along paved trails by the Truckee River. Aid stations, race shirt, finisher medal, free photo, and beer for participants 21 years or older.

A 100-kilometer ultramarathon near Lake Tahoe with 11,500 feet of climbing and over 23,000 feet of elevation change on mostly singletrack. The course reaches about 9,800 feet and passes Star Lake.
