The Broken Arrow Skyrace is a four-day mountain running event held at Palisades Tahoe (Lake Tahoe, CA) on June 18-21, 2026. The event uses high-alpine terrain, much of it above the tree line, and includes technical sections with rock slabs, scree, exposure, ladders, hand lines, and potential snow slopes. Organizers note variable course length and conditions year to year depending on snow. Cutoffs, participant limits, and age minimums apply for many distances. Distances
- 46K - signature distance, limited to 800 runners
- 23K - 14.25 miles, limited to 1300 runners
- 18K - approximately 11 miles
- 11K - 11 km, ~569 m (1,840 ft) vertical gain, limited to 600 runners
- Ascent (Vertical K) - short, steep ascent, field limited to 500 runners
- Iron Face Challenge - 5.75 miles, ~2,000 ft climb, limited to 100 participants
- Triple Crown - Ascent + 46K + 23K, limited to 200 runners
- Iron Crown - Iron Face Challenge + 23K + 46K, limited to 25 runners
- Kids Race - slightly less than 1 km, no timing, no podium prizes
Key details and policies
Entry fees, field limits, cutoffs, and age minimums vary by distance; several distances require a minimum age of 14 or 16, and the Iron Face Challenge requires participants to be 18 and weigh at least 88 pounds. Online registration opens December 8, 2025 and closes June 10, 2026. Change-of-distance and partial-credit windows are specified in the event policies; online registration is non-transferable.
