Broken Arrow Skyrace

The Broken Arrow Skyrace - June 18-21, 2026

The Broken Arrow Skyrace is a four day, multi distance mountain running event held at Palisades Tahoe, Lake Tahoe, California. The courses emphasize high alpine terrain mostly above the tree line and include technical off-trail scrambling, large amounts of vertical gain and loss, exposure, bolted hand lines, a ladder, and steep snow slopes. The event includes both single-day races and multi-day challenges and offers cash prizes for selected elite distances.

Several distances have entry limits and age minimums: the Ascent is limited to 500 entrants and has a minimum age of 14; the 11K is limited to 600 and requires minimum age 16; the 46K is limited to 800 and requires minimum age 18. The Iron Face Challenge is limited to 100 participants, requires a minimum weight and age, and uses via ferrata equipment. The kids race is geared to ages 10 and under, covers slightly less than 1 kilometer on service roads, is untimed, and carries no podium prizes.

The event also hosts a youth Trail Futures NTN program for ages 10 to 18. Selected distances award cash prizes to top finishers; a larger overall prize purse is allocated to the Ascent, 23K, and 46K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
