The Alpenglow 100 - Valemount, BC
The Alpenglow 100 takes place in Valemount, British Columbia, from Friday July 3 to Sunday July 5, 2026. The event offers multiple mountain race distances that cross high alpine terrain topping out above 2300 m.
Distances offered
- 38 km - ascent 1800 m and descent 1800 m
- 65 km - ascent 3300 m and descent 3300 m
- 100 km - ascent 5000 m and descent 5000 m
Routes traverse the McKirdy and Swift ridgelines with sightlines toward Mount Robson and surrounding ranges. Aid station provision and drop bag access differ by distance: the 38 km course uses three aid stations, the 65 km course eight stations, and the 100 km course twelve stations, with specified drop bag access for longer distances.
A kids race of about 1 km is offered; it is untimed, non competitive, and free to enter. Mandatory gear is required for all distances because of alpine conditions and includes items such as a buff, toque, gloves, running pack, food and water, two space blankets or an emergency bivy, a waterproof breathable hooded jacket, a whistle, and a collapsible cup. The event operates as a cupless race, so runners must carry their own cup for fluids. Registration notes indicate entries for 2026 are sold out.
