The event takes place Friday July 3 to Sunday July 5, 2026 in Valemount, British Columbia. Courses traverse high alpine terrain and include Mount McKirdy and Swift Mountain, with high points above 2300 m. Reported total ascent values are about 1700 m for the 38 km, 3300 m for the 65 km and 4800 m for the 100 km. The 38 km is described as a counterclockwise loop over McKirdy; the 65 km and 100 km include both Swift and McKirdy sections.

Aid station and drop bag access varies by distance: the 38 km has 3 aid stations and no drop bag access; the 65 km has 8 aid stations and one drop bag; the 100 km has 12 aid stations and two drop bags with multiple access points. Aid stations offer a range of food and drinks and overnight stations include at least one hot food option. The event is cupless; runners must bring a reusable cup for fluids, with disposable cups provided for hot items only.

Mandatory gear covers protection for alpine conditions, emergency blanket or bivy, whistle, water and food supplies, and a collapsible cup. Missing mandatory items results in a one hour time penalty. Poles are allowed. Package pickup and race headquarters are based in Valemount, and bus shuttles run from Valemount Community Hall to Whiskey Fill Farm; there is no parking at the start. The Mount Robson Marathon offers multiple trail distances on the Berg Lake Trail in Mount Robson Provincial Park. Routes are out and back with aid stations and there is a free kids fun run.
