Thacher Park Trail Running Festival : August 23, 2026, Thacher State Park

The Thacher Park Trail Running Festival is a multi distance trail event held at Thacher State Park in Voorheesville, NY on August 23, 2026. All races share the same start and finish area in front of Hailes Cave Pavilion and run the same first 10K loop before routes diverge.

Distances offered include:

  • 10K
  • 13.1 miles (half marathon)
  • 26.2 miles (marathon)
  • 50K

The 13.1, 26.2, and 50K continue to the south side of the park to complete the half marathon loop; the marathon and 50K repeat that 13.1 course once. After 26.2 miles the 50K runners complete an additional shorter loop to reach 50K.

The event is cupless and participants must supply their own bottle. Multiple aid stations are placed around the course; some stations are full service with gels and snacks while others provide water only. Packet pick up occurs on race day only. The park charges a $6 fee per vehicle.

Entry fees vary by race distance and by registration date, and race day registration is available. Pets and strollers may be on site but are not permitted to participate in the races. Finishers in the marathon and 50K receive medals and post race food is provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
