Thacher Park Trail Running Festival

The Thacher Park Trail Running Festival is scheduled for August 23, 2026 at Thacher State Park in Voorheesville, NY. The event is produced by ARE Event Productions and was created in 2014 in conjunction with the Thacher Park Centennial Festival.

All races start and finish in front of Hailes Cave Pavilion and share the same first 10K loop. After the first loop the courses diverge: the 13.1M, 26.2M and 50K continue on a south-side loop; the 26.2M and 50K repeat the course; the 50K adds an additional shorter loop at the end. The 2026 courses will be identical to 2025.

The terrain includes escarpment views, roots, wide paths, single track sections and a feature called Hang Glide Cliff along the Long Path. The event is cupless; participants must supply their own bottle. Full service aid stations are located at stations B, D, E, F and G. Stations A and C provide water jugs only.

Packet pick-up is held on race day and race day registration is accepted. The park charges a vehicle fee; carpooling is encouraged. Post-event food includes a pot-luck style offering, and finishers in the 26.2M and 50K receive medals. Pets and strollers may be on site but are not permitted to participate in the races. Volunteer shifts are divided into three short shifts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
