  • 50 Miler
  • 40M
  • 20M
  • 10M

Registration closes Wed, Oct 1. The race partners with the Trail Mix Fund to offer registration fee waivers for eligible BIPOC and LGBTQ+ runners. Awards include overall podium places for each distance (first through third for men, women, and non-binary) and finishers medals for all participants. Runners may defer to the next year by notifying the race directors by September 1; pregnancy deferrals may be used within two years.

Course, aid stations, and rules

The course combines two trail systems in Shawnee Mission Park; each longer loop measures about 20 miles and the 10M uses one trail system. Terrain includes runnable and technical sections with roots, rocks, rolling hills, tree canopy, and some exposed areas. The course is marked with flags and ribbons; runners are responsible for following the marked route. If trails are closed due to conditions, a backup 10-mile route of mixed surfaces will be used.

Aid stations are cupless; runners must carry a reusable cup. Stations will offer items such as Tailwind, sodas, fruit, sandwiches, salty snacks, sweets, and soup later in the day. Drop bags are allowed for the 40M and 50M at Start/Finish, Shelter 8, and Walnut Grove and will be returned to Start/Finish as aid stations close. Pacers are allowed for 50M runners starting at 40 miles (30 miles for runners 70+). Crew access is permitted at Start/Finish, Shelter 8, and Walnut Grove. Runners must follow race rules on littering, course cutting, poles, alcohol, dogs, road crossings, and personal audio use. Final cutoff for the course is 10:00 pm.
