Event overview

Tails and Trails 5K is a community 5-kilometre event in Cody, Wyoming, held on Saturday, August 8, 2026. It is organized by Cody Regional Health in partnership with Wyo Hoofbeats to raise funds for Wyo Hoofbeats and to promote the animal therapy program at Cody Regional Health. The course runs through residential neighborhoods and along the Shoshone River with views of the surrounding mountains. The route is described as flat and fast for runners; walkers and participants with dogs may take a more relaxed, scenic pace.

Registration and logistics

The event location is 707 Sheridan Avenue, Cody, WY 82414, at the Cody Regional Health Monument Entrance. Registration opens June 9, 2026. Early registration is listed at $35 until August 7, 2026; a late registration fee of $40 is noted for registrations after that time. Registration includes an event t-shirt and a swag bag. Packet pick-up is available the Friday before the race (evening pick-up at Cody Regional Health - Monument Entrance) and on race day beginning at 7:00 AM at the Monument Entrance.
