Sweltering Summer Ultra

The Sweltering Summer Ultra is an annual running event held at Clapp Park in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The 13th edition features an 8-hour race on a certified 0.355-mile dirt and cinder track, with runners switching directions halfway through. Participants can run or walk as many laps as they choose, with chip timing and a live leaderboard provided.

The event includes a well-organized aid station with no-contact bottle refills, prepackaged snacks, ice pops, and pizza. Awards are given for overall and age group winners, with additional longevity and mileage recognitions. A 12-hour virtual race option supports the AYJ Fund, benefiting children with cancer.
