Survive the Night Relays - Kroger Field, Lexington, KY
Survive the Night Relays is a night-time running event at Kroger Field in Lexington, KY on July 18 to 19, 2026. The 2026 edition is scaled back to running relays only; the triathlon relay will not be held. The event raises funds for cancer patient support care and donates all proceeds to charity.
Event formats for 2026 include marathon relays, double marathon relays, a 12 hour ultra with solo and team options, and a single-runner marathon on the paved road course. The marathon and double marathon relays use a new paved road course. The ultra course includes mixed on- and off-road sections with a grassy, trail-like portion. Ultra participants are chip timed and are ranked by total distance completed during the 12 hour period. Support, food, and music are provided for ultra runners.
Distances and team options include:
- 26.2 miles Marathon relay, teams of 2 to 10
- 52.4 miles Double marathon relay, teams of 2 to 10
- 100 miles 12 hour ultra options, solo or team formats
This year the event is cupless; participants must bring their own cup or water container for hydration. Team captains must pay the entire team registration cost when creating a team; team members then join without additional payment and select shirt sizes. Early registration discounts apply until 1 June 2026, and teams registered by 20 June 2026 will have shirts ordered in chosen sizes. Bluegrass Runners members receive a $5 or $10 registration discount. Because proceeds are donated to charity there are no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
