Trail Running at Sunset Bay State Park

The Sunset Bay Trail Runs take place in Coos Bay, Oregon, offering a variety of distances along the scenic Oregon Coast. The event features hilly courses that traverse wooded areas and open cliff sections. Participants can observe local landmarks and wildlife, including sea lions and rocky coastal formations.

The available distances for this event include:

• 1/2 Marathon Trail Run
• 15 K Trail Run
• 4-Mile Trail Run
• 1 Mile Beach Fun Run

The courses consist primarily of trails, though some small sections are open to traffic. For the 1/2 marathon, a time limit is enforced at the Cape Arago aid station; participants who do not reach the 6.5-mile mark by the designated cutoff are moved to the 15 K event.

Water and electrolyte drinks are provided at the start and finish lines, with an additional aid station available for the longer distances. This station offers water, gels, and snacks. This is a RRCA sanctioned event. For safety reasons, the use of headphones, animals, jogging strollers, or any wheeled devices is prohibited.
