Sunrise Scramble

Glendo, United States • 25-26 Apr 2026

Event details

Sunrise Scramble is a timed trail running event at Glendo State Park in Glendo, Wyoming, held April 25–26, 2026. The event is based at Two Moon Campground on the shores of Glendo Reservoir. Glendo State Park covers about 22,000 acres (roughly 10,000 acres of land and 12,000 acres of water) and offers about 45 miles of multi-use trails. The 2026 program adds a new 24-hour option alongside 3-hour, 5-hour, and 10-hour options.

Course, rules and logistics

The event uses a looped course system with five loops that all start and end at Two Moon Campground. All entrants begin on the approximately 1-mile loop and then continue on selected loops. Runners must complete loops before official sunrise for those loops to count toward total mileage. Loop distances and elevation gains include:

  • 1.41 miles - 157 ft gain
  • 3.53 miles - 410 ft gain
  • 5.37 miles - 743 ft gain
  • 7.78 miles - 1,148 ft gain
  • 13.6 miles - 2,300 ft gain

Runners must check in with a timing volunteer after each loop. Loop 5 requires carrying at least 1.5 liters of fluid and 300 emergency calories, shown to the volunteer before departure. There are no pacers for the 3-, 5- and 10-hour events. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Crew may only provide aid at the main aid station and may not administer aid outside it. Mandatory gear will be checked at packet pickup and before leaving on Loop 5. Camping is available at the campground on a first-come, first-served basis; electrical sites may have power but water and dump stations may not be available.
