Sunrise Scramble

Glendo, United States • 25-26 Apr 2026

About the Event

The Sunrise Scramble is a night-running event based at Glendo State Park in Wyoming. The event takes place at the Two Moon Campground and uses a looped course. Participants aim to complete as many loops as they can before sunrise on Sunday morning; any loops completed after the official sunrise do not count toward total mileage.

Participants choose from a range of timed events:

  • 24 hours
  • 10 hours
  • 5 hours
  • 3 hours

Five distinct trail loops are available, each starting and ending at the main campground. The loops have varying distances and elevation gains:

  • Loop 1: 1.41 miles, 157 ft elevation gain.
  • Loop 2: 3.53 miles, 410 ft elevation gain.
  • Loop 3: 5.37 miles, 743 ft elevation gain.
  • Loop 4: 7.78 miles, 1,148 ft elevation gain.
  • Loop 5: 13.6 miles, 2,300 ft elevation gain.

All entrants begin on Loop 1 and then can select subsequent loops. Participants must check in with a timing volunteer after completing each loop and before starting the next. Runners attempting Loop 5 must carry a minimum of 1.5 liters of fluid and 300 emergency calories in addition to their planned supplies. No dogs are allowed on the course, and pacers are not permitted for the 3, 5, or 10-hour events.

The event includes a pre-race packet pickup, a fireside gathering, and a post-race hot breakfast and awards ceremony. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
