Event Overview
The Summer Grand Prix is a series of four 5 km races held on Saturdays throughout the summer of 2026. All events take place at Panorama Vista Preserve in Bakersfield, California.
Race Details
The series consists of four individual races:
- Summer Grand Prix: Race 1
- Summer Grand Prix: Race 2
- Summer Grand Prix: Race 3
- Summer Grand Prix: Race 4
Participants can choose from two start waves for each race. Walkers are welcome to participate. For 2026, the series introduces divisions for Youth, High School, and Adult participants. The scoring system counts only the best three race results for each participant, allowing someone to miss one race.
Competition and Scoring
A points system determines the overall series champion in each division. Points are awarded to the top nine finishers (male and female) in each division, with first place receiving 9 points. The runner with the most accumulated points in their division at the end of the series is crowned the Grand Prix Champion. Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
Venue and Logistics
The event is held at 901 E Roberts Ln in Bakersfield. Parking at the venue is limited, so carpooling is encouraged, with overflow parking available along the street.
