The Rock Cobbler Trail Run 2.0 is an off road trail running event at Rio Bravo Ranch in Bakersfield, CA, scheduled for November 7, 2026. The event offers multiple route options, aid stations with fluids and fueling, event timing, camping, and onsite food and beverage service across the weekend. Registration opens July 1 and the organizers expect a sell out.
Route options include:
- BOULDER: roughly 26 mi / 41.84 km, about 4500 ft vert, two laps
- COBBLER: roughly 13 mi / 21 km, about 2300 ft vert, one lap
- PEBBLER: roughly 6 mi / 10 km, vertical TBD, one short loop
Gear and event operations notes: Participants must use proper trail running shoes and shoe gaiters. Shirts are required. Poles are permitted. The event operates cupless; runners must start with handheld, waist pack or backpack hydration. Fully stocked aid stations are available after the start. No outside support is allowed except that Boulder participants may stash supplies at the start finish area.
What is included and fees: Entry fees are listed as $150 Boulder, $130 Cobbler, $100 Pebbler; no refunds. Packet pickup, a Friday beer mile event, pasta dinner, breakfast burritos and coffee, a post run lunch, swag bags, a raffle, and a special gift for participants are part of the weekend offerings. First male and female finisher of each route receive a special gift and results include age breakdowns.
Basic rules and safety: There are no official categories or podiums; the event is timed and organizers reserve the right to remove participants who do not reach the final SAG stop.
