The Rock Cobbler Trail Run is a fully off-road trail-style event at Rio Bravo Ranch in Bakersfield, California. The 2026 program offers three route options with varied distances, elevation and lap formats.

  • Boulder: roughly 26 mi / 41.84K with roughly 4500 ft vert, 2 laps
  • Cobbler: roughly 13 mi / 21K with roughly 2300 ft vert, 1 lap
  • Pebbler: roughly 6 mi / 10K vert TBD, 1 short loop

The course includes rocky, dirt and dusty trails. Runners must wear trail shoes and shoe gaiters; shirts are required. Poles are allowed. The event operates cupless so participants must carry their own hydration; aid stations on course are stocked with fluids and fuel. Outside support is not permitted except limited stash options at the start/finish for the Boulder route.

Event amenities include packet pickup on the Friday before the run, a Friday night beer mile and pasta dinner, breakfast burritos and coffee the morning of the run, post-run lunch from Bakofornia Grill, raffle entries for all runners and a special gift for each participant. Entry fees are listed per route and refunds are not offered. The event is timed and the first male and female finisher on each route receive a special gift.
