STRC Trailfest at Sugar Hill

STRC Trailfest is a timed trail event held at Sugar Hill State Forest, Fire Tower Area, near Watkins Glen, NY. The course is a roughly 4 mile loop with about 500 feet of elevation gain per loop. A fully stocked aid station is located at the loop start and finish area.

Participants choose one of the following timed durations:

• 3 hour timed event
• 6 hour timed event
• 12 hour timed event

Entry options and amenities include posted entry fees of $65 for the 3 hour, $85 for the 6 hour, and $100 for the 12 hour events, post-run food, custom BOCO Gear hats for participants, a finisher medal, and custom awards for male and female winners. A portion of proceeds will be donated to a local trails organization.

The event is capped at 100 participants and parking is limited; there is no parking permitted on the road leading to the Fire Tower Area. Camping is available on a first come first serve basis in the Sugar Hill Recreation Area where 26 designated campsites have fire rings and picnic tables. Additional primitive sites and lean-to locations exist elsewhere in the forest; most sites are carry in carry out.
