STRC Trailfest at Sugar Hill
STRC Trailfest is a timed loop trail event hosted by the Southern Tier Running Club at Sugar Hill State Forest near Watkins Glen, NY. The event offers three timed durations:
- 3-hour timed event
- 6-hour timed event
- 12-hour timed event
The course is a roughly 4 mile trail loop with about 500 feet of elevation gain per loop. Participants may run, hike, or walk and count only loops completed before their event time limit. A fully stocked aid station is located at the loop start/finish area. Post-run food is provided.
Entry fees are listed as $65 for the 3 hour event, $85 for the 6 hour event, and $100 for the 12 hour event. Event registration is limited to 100 participants. STRC membership has a $10 fee and provides a $5 discount on entry.
All participants receive event swag, including custom BOCO Gear hats, a finisher medal, and custom awards for male and female winners. Part of the proceeds will support a local trails organization.
Camping is available in the Sugar Hill Recreation Area near the Fire Tower area with 26 designated campsites on a first-come, first-serve basis. Facilities in the rec area include a pavilion, picnic tables, and seasonal restroom with potable water. Volunteers are needed for parking, aid station support, post-race food, and course clearing.
