STRC Trailfest at Sugar Hill
STRC Trailfest is a timed loop trail event held at Sugar Hill State Forest, Fire Tower Area near Watkins Glen, NY. The event uses a roughly 4 mile trail loop with about 500 feet of elevation gain per loop. Participants run as many loops as they can within their chosen time limit; only loops completed before the time limit count.
The event offers three timed durations:
- 3 hour timed event
- 6 hour timed event
- 12 hour timed event
A fully stocked aid station is available at the loop start/finish. Entry includes access to the aid station, post-run food, a finisher medal, and participant swag including custom BOCO Gear hats. Custom awards are presented for male and female winners. A portion of proceeds will be donated to a local trails organization.
Entry fees are listed for each duration and registration closes on Sep 2. Parking is limited and the field is capped at 100 participants; parking on the road leading to the Fire Tower Area is not permitted.
Camping and day-use facilities exist within Sugar Hill State Forest. The Fire Tower Area includes 26 designated campsites on a first-come, first-serve basis, a covered pavilion, picnic tables, and seasonal restroom access with potable water.
