STRC Trailfest at Sugar Hill
STRC Trailfest at Sugar Hill is a timed loop trail event held at Sugar Hill State Forest near Watkins Glen, NY on September 5, 2026. The event is organized by the Southern Tier Running Club and offers multiple timed durations on a single loop course.
The course is a roughly 4 mile trail loop with about 500 feet of elevation gain per loop. Participants attempt as many loops as they can within their chosen time limit; only loops completed before the time limit count. Three event durations are offered:
- 3 hour timed event
- 6 hour timed event
- 12 hour timed event
A fully stocked aid station is located at the start and finish area. Entry includes access to the aid station and post run food. All participants receive a custom BOCO Gear hat and a finisher medal. Custom awards are listed for male and female winners, and a donation to a local trails organization is planned from event proceeds. Entry fees are stated as $65 for the 3 hour event, $85 for the 6 hour event, and $100 for the 12 hour event. STRC membership is listed as $10 with a $5 discount for members.
Camping is available at designated sites in the Fire Tower Area on a first come first serve basis. Parking is limited and the event is capped at 100 participants. No parking is permitted on the road leading to the Fire Tower Area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
