Stratton/SMS-T2 Summit Challenge

The Stratton/SMS-T2 Summit Challenge is a trail race that follows the work road from the base of the gondola to the top of Stratton Mountain in Stratton, VT. Bib pickup is located at the Base Lodge entrance at the base of the gondola. At the summit runners descend on the gondola after finishing.

The event offers two race categories with set field limits and entry fees:

  • 2 km Youth Race, field limit 100, includes poster and raffle entry.
  • 5 km Open Race, field limit 200, includes prizes for the top three finishers of each gender and raffle entry.

The event is organized by the SMST2 team, a local professional cross country ski team that trains in the Stratton area. Members of the team and athletes from the US Ski Team are present, giving participants an opportunity to meet them and ask questions. Prizes and raffle awards are distributed after the race.

All proceeds from the event support the SMST2 team to help cover travel and race expenses. Donations and merchandise can be added to registrations or purchased without registering. The event has a total registration limit of 400 participants and is based at Base Lodge Rd, Stratton, VT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
