Straddie Salute event information

Straddie Salute is a multisport weekend scheduled for 15 to 17 May 2026, with the main race program on 16 and 17 May. Multiple activities take place at Point Lookout Oval and nearby venues; ocean swim events use Home Beach and presentations and post-event functions are held at local venues including Point Lookout Bowls Club and Straddie Brewing.

The event program includes organised trail runs, ocean swims, off-road and on-road triathlons, and youth events under the StraddieKidz banner. Distances confirmed in the program include:

  • 10 km Trail Run
  • 1000 m Ocean Swim
  • 500 m Ocean Swim

Entries and membership: official entries close the Friday before the event unless sold out. A One Day Membership (ODM) is automatically added for entrants without an annual AusTriathlon membership; teams may require only one ODM per team depending on members’ memberships. Age categories are determined by age on 31 December 2025 and grouped in five year brackets. The event welcomes individuals and teams from 5 years and up.

Race logistics and rules: wave starts are finalised the week of the event. Participants receive timing chips to wear on the left ankle; results are released online by late afternoon on race days. Helmets are compulsory for cycling, music devices are not permitted, and bikes must be in safe working condition. The Coombabah Trail Run will take place in Coombabah on Sunday 7 June 2026. You can run between 6 and 13 kilometers.

A two day trail running event at Mount Coot Tha near Brisbane offering 105 km, 52 km, 21 km and 10 km races with substantial elevation and reservoir views. The event is a Western States qualifier and a UTMB index qualifier for some distance..

An hourly-lap endurance run at Oxley Creek Common, Rocklea, featuring *6.706 km* loops with 69 m ascent per lap. The last runner standing must complete one solo lap to win otherwise all finishers are recorded as DNF.

Trail runs around Yarrabilba feature sandstone outcrops, eucalypt forest and late winter wildflowers across three distances. Events are professionally timed with on course water for medium and long runners and clear age based rules.
