Straddie Salute Triathlon Festival

The Straddie Salute is a multi-event swim, bike and run festival held on Minjerribah, North Stradbroke Island. The event offers a range of distances and formats so participants can choose races suited to their age and ability. It is organised as a not-for-profit event hosted by QYAC and Redland City Council alongside NX.

  • Straddie Salute: Swim 750m | Cycle 15km | Run 8km
  • Straddie Pure: Swim 750m | Cycle 25km | Run 8km
  • StraddieKidz Discover: Swim 100m | Cycle 2km | Run 500m and shorter combinations
  • Ocean Swim: 1000m and 500m
  • Trail Run: 10km and 5km

The festival emphasises inclusivity and accessibility, welcoming participants with different needs including para-athletes and families with children. Local community organisations contribute volunteer time and receive community grants of up to $1100. A two day trail running event at Mount Coot Tha near Brisbane offering 105 km, 52 km, 21 km and 10 km races with substantial elevation and reservoir views. The event is a Western States qualifier and a UTMB index qualifier for some distance..

An hourly-lap endurance run at Oxley Creek Common, Rocklea, featuring *6.706 km* loops with 69 m ascent per lap. The last runner standing must complete one solo lap to win otherwise all finishers are recorded as DNF.

Trail runs around Yarrabilba feature sandstone outcrops, eucalypt forest and late winter wildflowers across three distances. Events are professionally timed with on course water for medium and long runners and clear age based rules.

A one-day trail running festival at Legacy Way Car Park, Mount Coot-tha, featuring a 2 km kids loop, a 12 km Hightail course, and a 21.1 km Surefoot half marathon on shared trails.
