Sticks N' Stones Trail Race 2026

The Sticks N' Stones Trail Race will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Christie Lake Conservation Area in Hamilton, Ontario.

Multiple distances are offered on a 5.3 km looped course around the lake. The route is described as rolling, fast, and runnable, with a primarily non-technical dirt surface.

  • 5 km: one loop.
  • 10 km: two loops.
  • 25 km: five loops.
  • 50 km solo: ten loops.
  • 50 km relay: ten loops for a team of up to five runners.

An early start at 8:00 a.m. is available for 50 km participants who think they will need more time than the 8-hour cutoff. The 25 km, 50 km, and 50 km relay start at 9:00 a.m., while the 5 km and 10 km start at 10:00 a.m.

The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Registration includes parking costs. Participants in the 5 km, 10 km, 25 km, and 50 km relay receive a toque. Solo 50 km participants receive a hoodie, which is available for purchase for other categories.

Two aid stations are provided per loop, located at the start/finish and at the 2.5 km mark. The events are cup-less, so runners must bring their own collapsible cup or bottle. Finishers receive a race medal, and awards are given to the top three solo finishers in each race and to the top relay teams. A photographer will be present.

Race kit pick-up is on-site from 7:30 a.m. on race day. The event supports Oceana Canada. Partnerships include La Sportiva, which will be present with a demo shoe fleet and will give away two pairs of shoes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
