Standhope 100
The Standhope 100 is a backcountry 100 mile endurance run through Idaho’s Pioneer Mountains. The route includes over 23,000 feet of climbing across remote wilderness trails, with long stretches between aid stations and extended time at altitude. The course is well marked and supported by staff, volunteers, medical support, and live communication.
The race for 2026 has no qualifying requirement. Support features include 12 fully stocked aid stations, spot trackers for all 100-mile runners, an aid station chart that shows allowed drop bag locations, and provided finisher items including a belt buckle and a technical shirt. Runners must be self-sufficient in mountain weather and wildlife conditions and carry required gear such as water, a windproof and waterproof jacket, warm layer, headlamp with backup, a course map or GPX file, sunscreen or hat, and a personal cup. Drop bags must have name and bib number and are not accepted on race morning; there is currently no formal size limit but some aid stations require staff to hike drop bags in. Due to remoteness, there are limited evacuation and drop points and patience may be required for transport from aid stations. The race uses a total time cutoff of 39 hours.
