Mackay, United States • 25-26 Jul 2026

Event Overview

The Standhope 100 is a 100-mile endurance trail run held on July 25-26. It is described as Idaho's highest trail race, taking place in the remote Pioneer Mountains. The course covers over 23,000 feet of climbing across remote wilderness trails. There are long stretches between aid stations, and sections of the course have no cell service.

Race Details

The event starts at 5:00 AM on Saturday, July 25. The final cutoff time is 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 26, providing a total of 39 hours to finish. There is no qualification requirement for entry.

Course & Support

The route features steep climbs, technical descents, and extended time at altitude. The course is marked and supported by staff and volunteers. 12 fully stocked aid stations provide support, including Tailwind and other food items. Access to these stations is difficult due to the remote location. All 100-mile runners are provided with a Spot tracker for live online tracking. Drop points are limited due to the remoteness.

Participant Preparation

Participants are advised to be self-sufficient and prepared for mountain weather, wildlife, and backcountry conditions. Strongly recommended gear includes rain gear, extra layers, lights with backup batteries, and a water filter. Final mandatory gear will be listed in a race manual.
