Course, rules and logistics

The course runs on rugged rocky, dirt, and grass ATV trails. The main loop is about 10.3 miles, used for multiple distances: the 50K comprises three loops, the 35K two loops, and the 17K one loop; the 5K follows a modified route. The 50K lists over 2,300 ft of total elevation gain and the loop includes climbs of roughly 750 ft per circuit. The event is cupless; water refill stations are provided for participants to refill their own bottles or cups. General rules include no littering and use of trail etiquette.

Ruck entries have mandatory weight requirements: participants over 150 lb carry 30 lb, those under 150 lb carry 20 lb; ruck sacks or vests are allowed. The ranch charges a $10 parking fee per participant, collected in cash on entry. There is a 14-hour overall cutoff. Finishers receive a T-shirt and collectible medal; ruckers receive a ruck patch. The event is part of the Texas Ultra Series, where combined finisher medals form the State of Texas and completing the series yields a wooden medal case; top finishers may qualify for a separate championship.
