Event Overview

The Frio Trail Runs is a trail running event offering multiple distances on the rocky and dirt single-track trails within Garner State Park in Concan, Texas. The courses are hilly, with the main 10k loop featuring approximately 1,500 feet of elevation gain. For a section of the 10k loop, participants traverse to the top and back down Old Baldy Mountain.

Course and Logistics

The 50k course consists of multiple loops, accumulating roughly 7,000 feet of total elevation gain. The event uses a special event entrance to the park, not the main entrance. A water carrying system is required for all participants, with a 32-ounce capacity recommended. Aid stations provide hot and cold foods, snacks, water, electrolytes, pickle juice, and ice. The main aid station at the start/finish area allows for drop bags and crew access.

Participant Information

All finishers receive a tri-blend t-shirt and a finisher medal. Unique awards are given for the 50k distance, including a special finisher medal and a last-place trophy. First-place male and female trophies are awarded for all distances. Camping is available at the park's campgrounds near the start/finish area.
