SOO 200

The event takes place in Goulais River, Ontario, at 194 Pickard Road. The SOO 200 is described as Eastern Canada’s first 200 mile event and as a sister event to The Divide 200.

The course mixes single track, double track, dirt road, cross country and some bushwhacking. Although the course is prescribed, there are short sections that require route finding. On the 200 mile route, checkpoints are placed roughly every 20 to 40 km depending on the section. 200 mile competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach supplied by the organizer for navigation and safety.

New distance options have been added. Several shorter races start at Stokely Creek Lodge and the 100 km option is two loops of the 50 km course.

Distances offered

  • 200 mile
  • 100 mile starts at Stokely Creek Lodge
  • 100 km two loops of the 50 km course
  • 50 km starts at Stokely Creek Lodge

For the 200 mile entry there is a payment plan choice: pay in full or in two installments. A 10% non refundable fee applies under the event terms and conditions.

The event acknowledges it is held on the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg, including Batchewana and Garden River First Nations, and the Métis People. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
