SOO 200

SOO 200 is presented as Eastern Canada’s first 200 mile event. It is located at 194 Pickard Road, Goulais River, Ontario, and celebrates the land and waters of the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma area. The event is a sister race to The Divide 200 and takes place in September 2026.

The course mixes single track, double track, dirt road, cross country and some bushwhacking. Although the route is prescribed, there are short sections that require route finding and the terrain can be very gnarly. On the 200 mile course, checkpoints are placed approximately every 20 to 40 km depending on the section. 200 mile competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach supplied by Sinister Sports for route finding and safety.

The event program includes racer check in, a welcome dinner, racer and volunteer meetings, and an awards and post race dinner.

Multiple distances and start arrangements are offered:

• 200 mile full course
• 100 mile starts at Stokely Creek Lodge and covers the southern half
• 100 km consists of two loops of the 50k course
• 50 km stays within the Stokely trail network and starts at Stokely Creek Lodge

Pricing is tiered by registration period and there is a 50% deposit option for the 200 mile. Paying the balance after the specified date incurs a 10% price increase and a 10% non refundable fee applies under the terms and conditions.

The event is situated on the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg including Batchewana and Garden River First Nations and the Métis People. The land is known as Baawaating. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
