SoCalUltraTrail at Tejon Ranch is a trail running event held at the Tejon Ranch Equestrian Center in Lebec, California. The event takes place on private ranch land and uses fire roads and foothill trails. The courses pass canyons, creeks, oak-filled areas, rolling sagebrush plains and views of the Tehachapi mountain range and distant high desert. Wildlife on course may include elk, deer, wild turkey, boar, bear, bobcat, coyotes and raptors. Overnight camping for tents, vans and RVs is available and local hotel partners will be announced.

  • 50k - 32.49 miles, 5,473 ft vertical gain
  • 25k - 15.86 miles, 2,858 ft vertical gain
  • 11k - 6.96 miles, 944 ft vertical gain

Course, timing and support

The courses are fully marked for day and night running. The 50k and 100k include the Grapevine switchbacks and steep climbs; the 100k reaches about 6,150 ft elevation. Chip timing, live tracking and same-day results are provided. Aid stations are stocked and staffed, with some locations allowing drop bags and crew access. Professional medical support and communications are present at aid stations.

Festival, awards and policies

A finish festival includes hot meals and a beer garden (21+). Finishers receive distance-specific awards (belt buckles for the 100k, medals for other distances). Prize entries and cash purses are listed for select winners. Entry fees are non-refundable but transferable under stated conditions; the event may be postponed for hazardous conditions. Challenge yourself on scenic, rugged Southern California trails at the Leona Divide Races in Lake Hughes, with distances from 30K to a 100 mile Western States qualifier. Race day is April 18 with optional packet pickup the Friday before.
