Snowbasin by UTMB
Snowbasin by UTMB takes place at Snowbasin Resort in the Northern Wasatch. The venue is framed by ridgelines and forested slopes with expansive views toward the Great Salt Lake.
Trails for the event are described as flowing and runnable, moving through sagebrush, aspen groves, evergreen forest, and open mountain terrain. The courses include sustained climbs with panoramic viewpoints, which reward pacing and rhythm as much as raw strength.
Distances offered include:
- 59 km - 1800 m+ elevation gain
- 29 km - 800 m+ elevation gain
The weekend transitions from mountain to metro. The city of Ogden lies minutes from the start and offers dining, live music, and an outdoor community centered on historic 25th Street. A moose statue on the mountain functions as a central gathering place and is set within lift-accessible, spectator-friendly terrain.
UTMB Cares is part of the event framework. It operates through The IRONMAN Foundation and supports grant funding and volunteer efforts; since 2003 IRONMAN and its foundation have provided over $55 million to nonprofit initiatives, including targeted funding for trail clean-up and restoration efforts.
