Snow Mountain Ranch Trail Running Festival
Snow Mountain Ranch Trail Running Festival is an annual trail event held at the YMCA of the Rockies in Granby, Colorado. The 12th edition features multiple race distances and two combined-event options called the Moosehead Challenge and the Baby Moose Challenge, which involve completing more than one event on the same day.
Event distances
- 50K: 31.4 miles, 4,236 ft elevation gain, 100% dirt, three loops
- 33K: 20.2 miles, ~2,443 ft elevation gain, dirt and grass trails, two loops
- Half-Marathon: 12.8 miles, 1,707 ft elevation gain, 100% dirt, single loop
- 10K: 6.1 miles, 653 ft elevation gain, 100% dirt, single loop
- 5K: 3.3 miles, 405 ft elevation gain, 100% dirt, out-and-back
Course details vary by distance but include out-and-back layouts with lollipop sections, specified numbers of aid stations per route, and listed total elevation gains and maximum elevations. The 50K course reaches a maximum elevation of 9,844 feet and requires runners to begin the third loop by a specified cutoff to finish within the event time limit. Pacers are allowed on the 50K for the final loop only; pacers are not permitted for other distances. Crews are welcome to support runners at the finish.
