Forest Trail Running in Sherwood Pines

The Sherwood New Year 10k, 5k, and Junior Run takes place in the picturesque Sherwood Pines forest in Nottinghamshire. This multi-continent event utilizes the trail network through the heart of Sherwood Forest, providing a scenic setting of greenery and woodland paths. The course is described as undulating and consists of multi-terrain surfaces.

Participants can choose from three distinct distances:

  • 10 km race
  • 5 km race
  • Junior Run

The event is organized at Sherwood Pines, located on the B6030 east of Kings Clipstone. The site is accessible by car, with parking fees included in the entry cost. Public transport options include local bus services from Mansfield bus station to Kirton or Walesby, which stop near the location.

All finishers receive a bespoke medal for their participation. The race organizers provide free photographs of the event and award trophies or prizes to the leading runners. Registered participants receive detailed event information before the race day, and GPX files are available for runners to review the route maps in advance.
