Scarecrow Walk : USU Botanical Center (September 20–28, 2025)

The Scarecrow Walk is a free, nine-day fall event at the USU Botanical Center in Kaysville, located at 80 E. 725 S., Kaysville, UT 84037. The display places scarecrows along scenic paths in the Varga Arboretum and demonstration gardens. Visitors can vote for the most popular scarecrow using numbered displays and QR codes; a prize is awarded to the winner. Sponsors include Discover Davis and USU Credit Union / Goldenwest Credit Union.

Activities, route and participation

  • 3/4 mile walk on dirt and paved paths that are stroller and wheelchair friendly.
  • 5K off-road run that passes through multiple gardens and circles the pond.

Event features on opening day include the Scarecrow 5K, awards for race winners, a costume contest, food trucks, live music, and a designated kids area. Leashed pets are welcome; visitors are asked to remove all waste. Community members, organizations, schools, and businesses may build scarecrows; wooden forms are provided. Builder forms become available in early August and builder applications have an early September deadline. Sponsorship levels and deadlines are listed for organizations that wish to support the event.
