Scarecrow Walk

Scarecrow Walk is a fall event at the USU Botanical Center in Kaysville, running from September 26 to October 4, 2026. The display features scarecrows placed along scenic paths in the Varga Arboretum and the center's demonstration gardens. The event is free to the public and is open to visitors from dawn to dusk over nine days.

The weekend opening includes the 3rd Annual Scarecrow 5K, hosted by the Farmington Rotary Club. That off-road 5K route passes through multiple gardens and circles the pond, and a costume contest encourages participants to dress as scarecrows. Awards are given to race winners and for the best costume.

Visitors can vote for their favorite scarecrow using numbered displays and QR codes; a prize is awarded to the most popular entry. The site offers food trucks, live music, and a dedicated kids area during the official festivities. Leashed pets are welcome and visitors are asked to remove waste.

Practical details for contributors include a builder application deadline of September 7, 2026, and availability of wooden scarecrow bases beginning August 3, 2026. Sponsorship options are offered with a deadline of August 4, 2026 for inclusion in sponsor benefits. Donations are accepted to help keep the event free.
