The Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic takes place on January 31, 2026, at Big Tesuque Campground in Santa Fe, NM 87505. The event offers two formats: an in-person snowshoe race and a virtual option. Both formats are a distance of 6K. The in-person course is a lollipop route that follows Big Tesuque Trail, Winsor Trail, and Pacheco Canyon Road. Snowshoes are required when conditions permit. Proceeds benefit Santa Fe search and rescue teams. Age-group awards are given to in-person participants, and a prize raffle for in-person entrants is held at the conclusion of the race. Parking at the campground is limited. Men will start first this year.

Registration and logistics

Registration opens October 13, 2025. In-person registration is priced at $35 and increases to $40 on January 7, 2026. Virtual registration is $40; virtual entrants must complete a 6K run, hike, or snowshoe by January 31, 2026. No race day registration is available. Mesh performance headbands are provided; headbands will be mailed to virtual participants. The event page lists remaining spots: 140 for the in-person event and 39 for the virtual event.
