Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic

Glorieta, United States • 31 Jan 2026

Event overview

The Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic takes place on January 31, 2026, at Big Tesuque Campground in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The event offers both an in-person and a virtual option. The distance for each option is 6K.

Format and course

The in-person race follows a lollipop course that winds along Big Tesuque Trail, Winsor Trail, and Pacheco Canyon Road. Snowshoes are required when conditions permit; if the course is mostly snow-covered participants must wear snowshoes, and if there is no snow participants are not required to wear them but must carry them. Alpine Sports is providing discounted snowshoe rentals for race weekend; rentals are available for a fee with pickup the day before and return on race day.

Entry, proceeds, and participant items

In-person entry is listed at $35 and the virtual option at $40. The event states that proceeds benefit Skyline Search and Rescue. Registered participants receive a performance headband; headbands will be mailed to virtual entrants. In-person participants also receive a campfire mug, are eligible for age-group awards, and may enter a post-race raffle. Overall top three in each division receive a mini snowshoe trophy. Parking at the campground is limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
