San Diego 200
The San Diego 200 takes place October 23–26 in Escondido, California. It is a 200-mile endurance event that circumnavigates San Diego County and passes coastal sections, urban corridors, rugged inland trails, mountains, and desert landscapes.
Participants have 82 hours to complete the full distance. The event emphasizes self-reliance and preparation; runners are responsible for their own crew, logistics, and decision-making. All runners are required to have a crew, and crews may meet runners wherever it is safe to do so. The first 100 miles travel through populated areas with opportunities for self-support at stores and gas stations. The second 100 miles becomes more rugged with limited options for water and supplies, making crew support especially important.
This edition revives the original San Diego endurance challenge and is organized by individuals who previously finished the course. The field is limited to 24 entrants for this reborn year. Previous completion of a 200 mile race is highly recommended; candidates without a 200 mile finish but with other notable accomplishments may be considered. Applicants are placed on a wait-list and admitted if they meet the requirements. Early bird entry is listed at $750 plus fees and taxes, with early pricing extended to May 1. All profits will be donated to a Native American charity. The entry fee covers basic event costs, a finisher buckle, and the charity donation.
