The Salt Settlers Six Hour Race is a timed endurance event held on Saturday 3 October 2026 in the Lower Otter valley. The race uses a looped course based at Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club. It is organised by Climb South West Ltd.

Course and format

The course is a loop of 4.4 km with about 12 m of ascent per loop. Participants complete as many loops as possible within six hours. The event is open to runners and walkers and offers both solo entries and pairs relay entries. An aid station is available after every loop. Participants receive a commemorative memento.

Logistics and entries

Entries open 2 December 2025 and close 30 September 2026. Entry fees are listed as: solo £60 (rising to £65 from 01/02/2026) and pair £79 (rising to £85 from 01/02/2026). Entry requires a SiEntries account. An optional XCover purchase is offered to allow possible refunds for unforeseen circumstances. Event facilities at the base include a cafe, bar and hot showers.
