The Salt Settlers Six Hour Race takes place on Saturday 8 November 2025. It is a six hour event on a looped course in the Lower Otter valley. Entries open 10 January 2025 and close 6 November 2025. Entry fees listed are: Solo £63 and Pair £79. The event is open to runners and walkers and offers solo and pairs relay options. Participants receive a special memento.

Course and facilities

The course is a 4.4 km loop with about 12 m ascent per loop, described as mostly flat. Runners complete as many loops as possible within six hours. Distances noted for reference:

  • 4.4 km single loop
  • 5 loops equals a half marathon
  • 10 loops equals a marathon

There is access to an aid station after every loop. The event base is Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club, where a cafe, bar and hot showers are available. Parts of the course can be underwater on high spring tides; the race is scheduled to avoid high tides, though late returns from a final loop could be affected by tidal water.
