The Salt Settlers Six Hour Race is organised by Climb South West and takes place on Saturday 8 November 2025. It is a timed six hour event held around the Lower Otter valley near Budleigh Salterton. Course and format

Participants complete as many 4.4 km loops as they can within six hours. The course is mostly flat with about 12 m ascent per loop. Options and distances:

  • 4.4 km loop
  • 5 loops equals a half marathon
  • 10 loops equals a marathon

The event is open to runners and walkers and offers both solo and pairs relay categories. An aid station is accessible after every loop. On high spring tides parts of the course can be underwater; the event is positioned between the high tides but late returns from a final loop may encounter tidal water.

The event base is Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club where a cafe, bar and hot showers are available. All participants receive a special memento.
