RutFest is the fifth annual Richmond Ultra Trail Festival held November 1-2, 2025 at Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Williston, VT. The event is community-focused and not for competition. It is organized as a 36-hour event over a weekend, with participants free to run or walk the course loops repeatedly.
Course and format
The event uses two trail loops at Catamount:
- 3 miles - north loop
- 4 miles - south loop
Runners check in at the main aid station and may run laps whenever they wish during the event. Participants are asked to sign up for a one-hour volunteer shift at the aid station and to donate a snack for the aid station. Check-in with a volunteer is requested when leaving for safety reasons. Buckles are available for purchase for those who complete 100 miles.
Entry and beneficiaries
Entry is donation based. Profits after event expenses will be split between the Catamount Outdoor Family Center and the Vermont Huts F.O.R.E.S.T Program. Registered participants receive event updates and information by email. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
