Run the Red Desert

Run the Red Desert is an annual ultra-marathon held in South Pass City, Wyoming, celebrating the unique Red Desert landscape. The event features 50K and 25K loop courses starting and finishing at the historic South Pass City site. Runners experience the rugged high desert steppe ecosystem, with scenic views of the Continental Peak, Oregon Buttes, and the Wind River Mountains. The 50K course follows the Continental Divide Trail, crossing creeks and rock scrambles, while the 25K shares much of the route before diverging onto an old railroad bed.
