Run for the Elk Race Festival takes place on July 26, 2026 in Emporium, Pennsylvania, at the West Creek Industrial Trail (E. 3rd and Chestnut St). The event is scheduled to run rain or shine and offers multiple race distances.

Distances include:

• Marathon - certified Boston Marathon qualifier (certification number PA22017NP), two loops
• Half Marathon
• 10K - out 3.1 miles and back to the finish
• 5K - out 1.55 miles and back to the finish
• Combo 5K and 10K

All registrants receive a race t-shirt, finisher medal and a free pair of running socks. First-time finishers of the half marathon, full marathon and the combo platter receive a plaque. Additional amenities listed for the event include pizza and salad prepared by Fox’s Pizza in Emporium, live text and email results, and free finish line photos.

Awards are available by gender designation M/F/X with Top 1 overall and Top 3 in age groups for Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Combo Platter. Pre-race packet pickup is available the day before at the start/finish area and race morning packet pickup is offered at the event; a bib number is required for pickup or can be found at the self lookup area.

An early start option is offered for the half and full marathons; there are no early starts for the 5K or 10K. Early starters are not eligible for awards and are advised to maintain a pace around 15 minutes per mile or slower; half marathon early starters may not receive a time if they finish faster than 2:15.
