Event overview

The BCU Rumble in the Jungle is a trail running event held in Bindarri National Park with the event hub at Eastern Dorrigo Community Hall, Ulong, NSW. The event takes place in early August (upcoming dates listed for 2–3 August 2025 and 1 August 2026). The course terrain includes rainforest singletrack, management trails and forest roads, with features such as waterfalls, lookouts and a scenic escarpment hinterland. Medals are provided to all finishers and trophies are awarded to the top three male and female in each distance.

  • 50 km (Ultra) : +1,950m / -1,950m, entry fee listed, course cut-off time applies.
  • 30 km : +860m / -860m, course cut-off time applies.
  • 21 km : +615m / -615m, course cut-off time applies.
  • 8 km : +165m / -165m, course cut-off time applies.
  • 1 km kids / family : held around the hall and oval, free entry, medals for finishers.

Mandatory gear is required and checked at bib collection; typical items include capacity for 1 litre of fluid, a charged mobile phone with the Emergency Plus app, a snake bandage, space blanket, whistle and emergency food. The event is cupless, so runners must bring a reusable cup or soft flask. Support crews and spectators are generally not permitted on course or at aid stations, with a limited exception for the 50 km at a specific aid station and at the finish line.
