BCU Rumble in the Jungle : event overview

The event is a trail running festival held at Eastern Dorrigo Community Hall in Ulong with courses through Bindarri National Park. The route includes waterfalls, lookouts and rainforest sections. Medals are awarded to all finishers and custom trophies are given to the top three male and female in each distance. No prior qualification is required. Minimum ages are set by distance and under-10s must run with an adult in the shortest event. The organisers list a limited camping option at the start/finish venue for a small fee; tents, swags and campervans are permitted but caravans and camper trailers are not.

Courses, aid stations and race logistics

Courses mix forest roads, management trails and singletrack. Total ascent/descent by distance: 50 km +1,950 m, 30 km +860 m, 21 km +615 m, 8 km +165 m. Each course has time limits (course cut-offs) and aid station support; aid stations supply water, non-alcoholic drinks, Trail Brew, snacks and fruit. The event is cupless - runners must bring a reusable cup or soft flask. Mandatory gear is checked at bib collection and includes a charged mobile phone with the Emergency Plus app, basic first-aid items, a space blanket and emergency food; failure to carry required gear may lead to disqualification. Support crew and spectators are restricted on course, with limited exceptions for the 50 km at specific aid stations. An old-shoe recycling collection is available at bib collection.
