Event Overview

The Mountain Rescue Pendle Dark Dash is a night run taking place on Pendle Hill. The event raises funds for the local mountain rescue team, which is a registered charity.

Course Details

The course starts and finishes in Barley. Participants follow a route up Pendle Hill via the tourist path and steps to the Beacon trig point. The run then continues over flags to the top of Ogden Clough before descending past Ogden Reservoirs and back to Barley village. The total distance is 9.2 km.

While the route will be marshalled and partially marked, participants are advised to carry a map and compass and know how to use them. A head torch and full kit as specified by the Fell Runners Association (FRA) is required.

Participation Rules

Entry is restricted to participants aged 18 or older. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Marshalling is provided by mountain rescue volunteers.
